I am originally from Gadsden, Alabama but was raised in Carrollton, Georgia. I am a graduate of John Marshall Law School in Atlanta and have a marketing degree from the University of West Georgia.
Prior to law school, I worked with the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council as a legal assistant for 2 years. During law school I was a member of the Moot Court Team and John Marshall Law Journal. During that time, I also had the pleasure of interning with The Georgia Court of Appeals and the Dekalb County Public Defender's Office. I graduated law school in the top 15% of my class in 2009 and went back to work with the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council at the Carroll County Public Defender's Office as an Assistant Public Defender. I worked with indigent criminal clients until November of 2012. During my time as a public defender, I represented clients in over 1,000 felony cases.
